Though most chemicals in beauty products present very little or no danger, dozens are associated with severe health conditions, including neurological harm and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics can enter the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and pose similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer are found in food and lots of other common products.
