Although the majority of chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose limited or zero danger, dozens have been associated with substantial medical conditions, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics can enter the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and pose the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer are found in food, water, and many other everyday goods. But, no group of consumer goods is subject to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal products, including Highlighter (Macchiato shade).
