While most chemicals in cosmetic products pose little or zero threat, several dozen have been associated to serious medical issues, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics gain entry to the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and pose the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer are found in water, food, and various other everyday items. But, no sector of consumer items is subject to less government inspection than cosmetics, including Cocoa Powder Foundation- Light/Medium. While most of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products probably pose little risk, being exposed to some is linked to substantial health issues, including cancer.
