While many chemicals in beauty products pose little or zero danger, some have been associated to serious medical problems, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals get into the body through internal use, the skin, and inhalation, and lead to similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants linked to cancer can be found in water, food, and lots of other common items. However, no sector of consumer items is accountable to less government inspection than cosmetics, including Lip Gloss (Vanilla Mint).
