While many chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present slight or zero risk, several dozen are associated to significant health problems, such as developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics enter the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and cause similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer can be found in water, food, and many other everyday goods. Still, no type of consumer goods is subject to less government oversight than cosmetics and other personal products, including Intense Color Moisture Balm. Though most of the chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products almost certainly present little risk, being exposed to a few is associated with significant health concerns, including cancer.
