While most chemicals in beauty products present little or zero danger, dozens are associated with serious health problems, including cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Chemicals in cosmetics invade the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and pose similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer can be found in food and several other common goods. However, no type of consumer goods is subject to less government oversight than cosmetics, including YSL Perfumed Soap.
