While the majority of chemicals in beauty products pose very little or absolutely no risk, several dozen have been linked with significant medical problems, including neurological harm and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics can enter the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and cause similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer can be found in food, water, and lots of other ordinary goods. Yet, no group of consumer goods is subject to less government oversight than cosmetics, including Camouflage. Although most of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics probably pose minimal risk, subjection to a few has been associated with critical health problems, such as cancer.
