Though the majority of chemicals in cosmetics present little or no risk, several are linked with substantial health problems, including cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals can enter the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and lead to similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.
