Although many chemicals in beauty products pose limited or zero threat, several dozen have been linked with considerable medical issues, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics can enter a person's body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and cause the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer can be found in water, food, and a lot of other ordinary items. But, no classification of consumer items is subject to less government oversight than cosmetics and other personal products, including Hair Glue.
