Although many chemicals in cosmetic products present limited or zero risk, dozens have been linked to serious health issues, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals get into a person's body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and pose the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer are found in water, food, and lots of other common products.
