Although many chemicals in cosmetics pose minimal or zero risk, several dozen are linked to considerable health conditions, including cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals enter a person's body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and cause similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer are found in food and many other common items.
