Though many chemicals in cosmetic products present little or absolutely no threat, several dozen are linked to severe medical conditions, such as developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals gain entry to the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and pose the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.
