Although most chemicals in beauty products present limited or no danger, dozens have been associated to severe health problems, such as cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Chemicals in cosmetics can enter the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and lead to similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer are found in food, water, and several other commonly used products.
