While many chemicals in cosmetic products pose very little or no risk, several dozen are associated to serious medical issues, including cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Chemicals in cosmetics invade the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and cause similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants linked to cancer are found in water, food, and several other everyday products.
