Although most chemicals in beauty products pose minimal or absolutely no risk, several have been linked with substantial health conditions, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics enter a person's body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and pose similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals linked to cancer are found in water, food, and several other common products.
