While most chemicals in beauty products present little or no risk, dozens have been associated to severe medical conditions, including developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics gain entry to the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer are found in water, food, and several other commonly used items.
