While most chemicals in cosmetics present minimal or zero danger, several have been linked to serious health problems, such as developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics enter the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and lead to similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in food and various other commonly used goods. Still, no category of consumer goods is accountable to less government oversight than cosmetics and other personal products, including Powder Blush (2). Though most of the chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products probably present very little risk, being exposed to a few is associated with significant health disorders, including cancer.
