Although the majority of chemicals in cosmetic products pose very little or zero threat, several dozen have been linked to significant medical issues, including neurological harm and cancer. Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer are found in food, water, and many other everyday products. But, no classification of consumer products is accountable to less government oversight than cosmetics and other personal products, including purifying shampoo.
