While the majority of chemicals in cosmetic products present little or absolutely no risk, several dozen have been associated to substantial health issues, such as developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals invade the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and pose the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer are found in water, food, and a lot of other commonly used products. Yet, no classification of consumer products is subject to less government management than cosmetics, including Hand Soap Garden Series. Though many of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products almost certainly present very little risk, being exposed to some has been associated with critical health concerns, such as cancer.
