Though most chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present minimal or zero risk, several dozen have been associated to serious medical problems, such as developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals enter a person's body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and pose similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals linked to cancer are found in food, water, and lots of other ordinary items. But, no area of consumer items is accountable to less government oversight than cosmetics, including Rollerball Lip Balm. While many of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics probably present very little risk, being exposed to some has been linked to major health issues, such as cancer.
