While many chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present limited or no threat, several dozen are associated to significant health problems, such as developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals can enter a person's body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and pose the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.
