Though the majority of chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose limited or absolutely no threat, several dozen have been associated with serious medical conditions, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics get into the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and pose the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer are found in food, water, and a lot of other commonly used goods. Yet, no area of consumer goods is subject to less government direction than cosmetics, including PERFECT ROUGE. While many of the chemicals in cosmetics likely present little risk, exposure to some has been linked to worrying health conditions, such as cancer.
