While the majority of chemicals in cosmetic products pose hardly any or zero threat, several have been associated to serious health problems, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics invade the body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and cause the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer can be found in food and various other everyday items.
