While many chemicals in cosmetics pose little or no threat, several have been associated to severe medical issues, such as cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Contaminants and chemicals linked to cancer can be found in food and several other ordinary items. However, no area of consumer items is susceptible to less government oversight than cosmetics and other personal care products, including Eye Shadow (Ambient). Although most of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics almost certainly pose very little risk, being exposed to some has been linked to substantial health concerns, including cancer.
