Though many chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose very little or zero risk, several are associated with significant health problems, including cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Chemicals in cosmetics invade the body through internal use, the skin, and inhalation, and pose the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer can be found in food, water, and several other everyday products. Yet, no classification of consumer products is susceptible to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal products, including Eye Shadow (Black Out). While most of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics probably pose minimal risk, subjection to some is linked to significant health issues, including cancer.
