Though many chemicals in beauty products present very little or no risk, dozens are linked to serious health conditions, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals can enter the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and lead to similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer can be found in food and a lot of other common products.
