While many chemicals in beauty products present slight or absolutely no threat, several are associated with substantial medical issues, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics enter the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in food, water, and lots of other commonly used products. Yet, no area of consumer products is accountable to less government management than cosmetics, including Little Black Book of Looks. Although most of the chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products almost certainly pose little risk, being exposed to some is associated with substantial health concerns, including cancer.
