Though many chemicals in cosmetics present little or no threat, several dozen are associated to serious medical problems, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals enter the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.
Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer can be found in water, food, and various other everyday items. But, no type of consumer items is susceptible to less government inspection than cosmetics, including EYESHADOW. Although most of the chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products most likely pose very little risk, being exposed to a few is associated with serious health concerns, including cancer.
