Though most chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose little or no risk, several have been associated with severe health issues, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics get into a person's body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and lead to similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer can be found in food, water, and various other everyday products. Yet, no group of consumer products is subject to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal products, including Creme Lipstick.
