While the majority of chemicals in beauty products present little or absolutely no risk, several have been associated to severe health issues, such as cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Cosmetic chemicals gain entry to the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and cause similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer are found in food and several other everyday goods.
