While many chemicals in beauty products present little or absolutely no threat, several dozen have been linked to serious medical problems, such as cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Chemicals in cosmetics invade the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and pose the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer are found in food and several other ordinary products.
