While most chemicals in cosmetic products present little or no threat, several dozen have been associated to severe health problems, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics enter a person's body through internal use, the skin, and inhalation, and pose the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in food and various other common products. But, no classification of consumer products is accountable to less government inspection than cosmetics, including Moisturing Shampoo. While many of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics probably pose very little risk, subjection to some is associated with serious health issues, including cancer.
