Although most chemicals in cosmetic products present very little or absolutely no threat, several dozen have been linked to significant health issues, such as developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals gain entry to the body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and pose similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer are found in food, water, and a lot of other common products. Yet, no group of consumer products is subject to less government oversight than cosmetics, including Limelite.
