While most chemicals in cosmetic products pose slight or absolutely no danger, several dozen have been linked to severe health conditions, including developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics get into the body through the skin and inhalation, and cause similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants linked to cancer can be found in food and various other everyday products. But, no classification of consumer products is subject to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal products, including Wonderful Tonight.
