While many chemicals in beauty products pose minimal or absolutely no risk, some are associated to considerable health conditions, including developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals can enter the body through the skin and inhalation, and cause similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer can be found in water, food, and several other common products. Yet, no type of consumer products is accountable to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal care products, including Lipstick (Earth).
