While many chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose limited or zero risk, dozens are linked to considerable health problems, including developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals can enter a person's body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and pose the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer can be found in food and a lot of other common products. Yet, no classification of consumer products is accountable to less government oversight than cosmetics and other personal care products, including Lip Polish (Posh). While most of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products almost certainly present little risk, subjection to some is associated with substantial health concerns, such as cancer.
