Though the majority of chemicals in cosmetics present very little or zero danger, some are associated to severe medical issues, including developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals invade the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and lead to similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Yet, no group of consumer products is subject to less government inspection than cosmetics, including Eye Liner (Toffee). While many of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products likely present little risk, subjection to a few has been linked to serious health conditions, including cancer.
