Though most chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose little or no danger, dozens have been linked with severe health problems, such as cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Chemicals in cosmetics can enter the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and lead to similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in food and several other common goods. Yet, no sector of consumer goods is susceptible to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal care products, including Eye Shadow (Linen). While many of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products almost certainly pose minimal risk, subjection to a few has been associated with worrying health conditions, including cancer.
