While the majority of chemicals in cosmetic products present little or no risk, some have been associated with serious medical issues, such as cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Cosmetic chemicals enter the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and pose the same dangers as food chemicals, per this site.
