While many chemicals in beauty products pose little or zero risk, several dozen have been linked with substantial medical problems, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics can enter a person's body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and cause the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in food and a lot of other everyday items. But, no classification of consumer items is accountable to less government oversight than cosmetics, including Eye Shadow (Chiffon). Although many of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics very likely present minimal risk, exposure to some is associated with significant health conditions, such as cancer.
