Although most chemicals in beauty products present slight or zero risk, several dozen have been associated with severe health problems, including neurological harm and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals invade the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer are found in food and many other ordinary products. But, no category of consumer products is susceptible to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal products, including Eye Shadow (Glided).
