While most chemicals in beauty products present little or no danger, dozens are associated to significant medical issues, including developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals can enter the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and cause similar dangers as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer are found in food, water, and lots of other commonly used products. However, no area of consumer products is subject to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal products, including Sheer Shine (Tutu).
