Though many chemicals in beauty products present minimal or no risk, several dozen have been associated to serious health problems, such as developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics can enter the body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and lead to similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals linked to cancer are found in food and many other ordinary items. Yet, no group of consumer items is susceptible to less government management than cosmetics and other personal care products, including Plump (Saucy).
