Although many chemicals in cosmetic products present very little or zero risk, dozens have been associated to significant medical issues, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics invade a person's body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and cause the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer are found in food, water, and lots of other commonly used products. But, no sector of consumer products is accountable to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal products, including Lipstick (Bravo). Although most of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products almost certainly present minimal risk, being exposed to some is associated with substantial health issues, such as cancer.
