Although many chemicals in beauty products pose little or no danger, dozens have been associated with serious health conditions, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics enter the body through the skin and inhalation, and lead to similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer can be found in food and a lot of other commonly used products. But, no type of consumer products is subject to less government inspection than cosmetics and other personal care products, including Lipstick (Terracotta). Though many of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics very likely pose very little risk, subjection to some is linked to serious health issues, including cancer.
