Although the majority of chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present little or no risk, several dozen have been linked to substantial medical problems, such as developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals enter the body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and cause the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer can be found in food, water, and various other ordinary products.
