While most chemicals in beauty products pose limited or zero danger, several are associated with severe health problems, including developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals invade a person's body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and lead to similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer can be found in food, water, and lots of other everyday items. Still, no group of consumer items is susceptible to less government oversight than cosmetics, including Lipstick (Smolder).
