While many chemicals in cosmetic products pose limited or absolutely no risk, dozens have been associated to substantial medical issues, such as developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals enter a person's body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and pose the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer are found in water, food, and several other common products. However, no group of consumer products is susceptible to less government oversight than cosmetics, including Lipstick (Blushing).
