While the majority of chemicals in beauty products present hardly any or zero threat, several have been associated with severe health conditions, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics can enter the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer can be found in water, food, and a lot of other commonly used products. But, no area of consumer products is accountable to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal products, including Hair & Body Soap.
