Though most chemicals in cosmetic products present minimal or zero risk, some have been associated with severe health problems, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics can enter the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and cause the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in water, food, and several other ordinary products. Yet, no category of consumer products is accountable to less government management than cosmetics and other personal care products, including Lip Gloss, All Shades.
